We decided it was time to make a mixtape featuring some of our favourite female artists – which at first proved fairly easy, being that we are currently overloaded with great material from that particular gender. Yet as we piled up a mountain of truly wonderful music it soon became apparent we would have to discard 80 per cent of it – we kind of figured no one wants a seven-hour mixtape.
We knew the final track had to go out to Poly Styrene – the singer for X Ray Spex who died earlier this year – she was a true original and an inspiration to many.
