Wonder Women: The Untold Story of American Superheroines
This flick about the representation of women superheroines in society, and how they battle for a voice in a male dominated genre, is all set to hit SXSW in March. Batman may be pretty hard and moody, but he does he, or has he ever, owned an invisible plane. No, no he hasn’t. Wonder Woman has though. Suck on that Dark Knight.
God Help the Girl
This film, based in Glasgow, has been written and is due to be directed by Belle & Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch. It’s about a hospitalised girl who turns to song-writing as a way of helping her deal with her problems. There’s only a few days left on this for donations, so get in there quick if you want to see this made.
Boy
This New Zealand coming-of-age movie from the director of Eagle Vs Shark has been storming to success in its homeland. The makers are now looking to bring the film to the States and need your help to do it.
Pavilion
Kids, angst, bikes – ’nuff said. It looks beautifully shot, is going to SXSW and has definitely got us interested.
